Honest comparison · written by the operator

Bally vs everything else on your list.

Most "vs" pages are written to win. This one's written by Hunter, who built Bally and answers the phone when you call. Here's what I do better, and what I don't.

Heads up, first

Bally does not replace Jobber, Housecall Pro, or ServiceTitan. It does not do dispatch, invoicing, payments, job costing, or CRM. It sits next to your existing tools as the front-office layer that catches the calls, answers the texts, and builds the marketing. If you need real field-service software, the honest recommendations are below the table.

The moment in question

Every option below is fighting over this moment.

Both hands on the job, the phone going on the counter. Software calls it a missed call; on a jobsite it's just Tuesday. Keep this picture in mind. It is what every row on this page is actually about.

Watched from the outside

Five ways to run the front office. One way I would pick.

Scroll through what each option actually is before the full table below spells out every line.

01 · Enterprise field-service platform · ServiceTitan

Built for a dispatch team, not one owner.

Real GL integration, real fleet tracking, built for a 30+ tech shop with an office staff to run it. $300 to $700 per seat, a 12 to 36 month contract, 2 to 6 months before you're live.

02 · Field-service SaaS · Jobber / Housecall Pro

Good dispatch software. No front office.

Solid if you've got a dispatcher running it day to day. $200 to $400 per seat on annual terms, and it does not build you a site.

03 · Marketing · Local agency

A retainer for a template and a stranger.

$1,500 to $3,000 a month, a 6 to 12 week retainer to start, and an account manager who has never picked up your phone. Content, not a website.

04 · DIY · Wix / Squarespace + tools

Three logins, none of them talking.

A site builder plus a missed-call app plus a review tool, bought separately and wired together on a weekend. $40 + $50 + $400+, stacked, and it's on you to maintain.

05 · Operator-led · Bally

One operator. One bill. One week to live.

A website you own outright from $800, with the AI front desk and follow-ups on top. Hunter builds it, answers for it, and the domain is in your name from day one.

Every line, for the record.

Prices are typical market ranges, not quotes. Call any of them for real numbers. Bally's figures are what you'd actually pay.

The same moment, handled

Same phone. Same trade. A different end of day.

This is what the table adds up to. The call you physically couldn't take got a text back in under a minute, and the day ends with the van packed instead of a backlog of voicemail.

The honest version

Where Bally isn't the right fit.

A sales page won't tell you this. If any of these is you, I'll say so on the call and point you somewhere better.

01

You run a 30+ tech shop with multiple dispatchers.

ServiceTitan is built for that scale. You need real dispatch, real inventory, real GL integration. That is a category Bally does not play in, and should not.

02

You already have a marketing agency that's working.

Don't change what's working. Bally's edge is replacing four scattered vendors with one operator. If you've already consolidated, that's genuinely great.

03

You need a CRM with a sales pipeline and forecasting.

Jobber and Housecall Pro both do this better. Bally is a front-of-house operator, not a sales-team management tool.

04

You don't want any automation on your phone.

The AI lives behind your existing line and texts from a tracking number you own. But if any automation on inbound is a hard no, this isn't the right service for you.

05

You need enterprise SOC 2 and custom legal terms.

Bally is early and says so, and is built around PIPEDA, CASL and Quebec's Law 25. If you need a SOC 2 attestation report, talk to ServiceTitan.

06

And where Bally is the fit.

A 1 to 15 person local business: plumber, electrician, salon, clinic, groomer, whoever answers their own phone, and who has a website it is a little embarrassed by, and wants one person to own the whole front office. That's the entire design.

Not sure which bucket you're in? That is exactly what the 15-minute call is for. I will tell you straight.

The verdict, plainly

Same job. Different way of paying for it.

Strip away the sales language and it comes down to four things.

Cost

$800 to $2,500 once, then $70 to $90 a month, against $1,500 or more every single month once you have stacked the separate tools.

Setup

About a week, 45 minutes of your time, vs 6 weeks to 6 months of onboarding.

Who answers

Hunter, by text, vs a ticket queue, a phone tree, or an account manager you've never met.

If you leave

Domain, site and list are already in your name. With most of the above, you're starting over.

RE: which one you should actually buy

If you need

Dispatch, payroll, invoicing, job costing — a full field-service stack with an office running it.

Go to Jobber or ServiceTitan.

They're built for that. I'm not, and this page just told you so in writing.

If you need

The phone answered, the site actually working, and one person owning both.

Call me.
